Today we would like to welcome a new little friend who has joined us from Roy down in Spalding, Lincolnshire. For the first time in quite a while, this is actually a young lady Bear who has arrived at the Birkenhead Bear Sanctuary. She was a little distressed when she arrived and Edward and Elgar took her under their wings to try to put her at her ease.
Today we thought we would take a day out from the normal day-to-day activity of the Blog to record our thanks to some people who usually don’t even get a mention. However, without these people it would be impossible for us to bring you all the latest tales of The Bear’s exploits. Many of these people work without pay; they do it purely for the love of it.
On occasion time moves a little too fast for all of us. When I first started the Bear Blog nearly three years ago now, many of the people who came to read and subscribe where in school. For some reason The Bears seemed to catch the attention of people of school age, although we can’t understand why adults weren’t interested!!
Tonight, there is not much going on here at the Birkenhead Bear Sanctuary. We have all just had our teas and are now settling down to enjoy a quiet evening chilling in front of the telly. Many of The Bears love watching the police chase things over on Sky3 or even Top Gear on Dave. It is all good fun and we have a great time arguing about which car is best but our favourite is when they let the Police Dogs go on Traffic Wars or Street Wars. It really does bring out a violent streak in our Bears when they see a Police Dog bite a suspect on the bum. In fact, Razzi even has a little soft spot for Rosie on Street Wars – She’s a Police Woman, in case you don’t watch it, not a Dog!
We have a new Bear coming to join us after we won another auction last night on eBay. This time it wasn’t all plain sailing as someone actually dared to bid against us. We held firm and made sure we won by increasing our maximum bid and in the end the other bidder couldn’t match our steal or determination. As far as we are aware, this Bear does not have a name but lived with a guy called Roy whose grandchildren used to play with the Bear. Roy says he will be sorely missed but that he is getting very lonely now that the grandkids have grown up and even Roy himself will miss the Bear.
The Blog is now back up and running and thanks to the wonderful efforts of Melenko over at digitalnature we now have the Mystique Theme fully implemented with no obvious errors. I say “obvious” errors because in something as complicated as our blog has now become, it is easy to miss something so if you notice anything peculiar with the way the Blog looks or behaves then please let us know.
