Razzi and I left for work this morning knowing we had a little mission to accomplish today. We had another one of those Red Cards from Royal Mail to tell us they had tried to deliver a Bear while we were out yesterday. We only had until 11am to pick the Bear up otherwise the sorting office would be closed and the poor little Bear would be there for the whole weekend. We had a lesson running until 11:30am so we would need to get Charlotte to drive us to the sorting office.
It is not very often that we are shocked on this blog. Our Bears have suffered every imaginable abuse from owners who just do not want them anymore, but this story has taken us aback. Yesterday, we received an email from a young lady who has an abusive boyfriend. This boyfriend not only gives her a hard time but also her Bear who she loves and has had for many years. She told us, “I think he is jealous of my Teddy Bear. What can I do?”
Here on the Bear Blog we do not usually comment on anything to do with news or politics unless it affects our Bears directly. However, following what we have heard, we thought we just had to comment on the latest celebrity tittle-tattle. As everyone who reads this blog will know, The Bears love watching X Factor and we have to admit to having a soft spot for Cheryl Cole. Even when X Factor contestants are awful, she still attempts to be positive and lighten the blow of rejection brought about by Simon Cowell’s biting remarks. For that reason alone, The Bears have taken her to their hearts, not to mention, Razzi thinks she is a bit of a babe.
The continuing story of Mystique erm… continues. We installed the new version 2 of our WordPress theme last night and we are happy to report there seems to be very little wrong with it. Razzi and I got in from work tonight and Edward told us there is another update fixing some of the bugs in version 2. By the time we came to check it, there was an update to the update. Therefore, we are still working on updating the theme when we initially thought we had finished.
We have had a new Bear join us today by the name of Eddington. Now you may think that sounds like a rather strange name but he did choose it for himself. He arrived this morning and decided he would like to come for a ride in the car with Razzi and I. While he was fastened into the back, Razzi explained that he would need a name and it would have to begin with the letter “E“. After giving it some thought he decided to knock the letter “B” off Bebington and make it Ebington but Razzi said it would sound better with a “D”. So they added a “D” and came up with Eddington, which we all agree does have a certain ring to it.
Rebecca asked yesterday why I sometimes end posts with the line about being careful out there. The line comes from the 1980s cop show Hill Street Blues. Every week the programme started with roll call where Sergeant Phil Esterhaus gave everyone their instructions for the day. He always ended roll call by telling all the police officers… and hey, let’s be careful out there!
