We have still not given up hope of finding a new theme for the blog. We are moderately happy with the current one but we are going to make sure we choose one that fully fits our needs before we jump ship. We have our eyes on a couple of contenders at the moment which we are trying out and while both the themes contain some wonderful features neither one fully fits what we are looking for. We are currently trying to decide if we should wait longer and see if a theme closer to meeting our requirements is released or whether we can get Edward to add the missing features to one of the current hopefuls. There is no great hurry, we would rather take our time and make the right choice so watch this space for future developments.
I had the pleasure of stumbling upon a little car rally the other week and met some really interesting people including a guy who had owned his car for nearly 50 years, I couldn’t believe it, this guy was 86 years old and his car was in mint condition you could literally eat your dinner off the engine it was that sparkly. Its hard to believe that someone could care for a car for that long, most people only have theirs a few years and move onto the next. This car rally had everything from Rolls Royce to a lovely little Porsche all lovingly cared for by their owners.
Today we are pleased to announce that a new Bear has joined us here at the Birkenhead Bear Sanctuary. He joins us from Leicester, which seems to be a hot-bed of abandoned Bears because we have had a few from that area. He has no memory of his past life and was placed on eBay by someone who knew nothing about him. All we can tell is that he has obviously been well looked after because erm… how should we put this delicately… he’s a bit of a Tubby Bear.
Those of you who have watched the BBC documentary; The Bear Family and Me, will be distressed to hear that the Bear cub featured on the programme has been shot by hunters. The cub was born live on the internet via a webcam last year. During filming she was abandoned by her mother and had to fight to live on her own from only a few months of age. However, she was later reunited with her mother, Lily, when the presenter, Gordon Buchanan, stepped in and brought them back together.
If you have been on Google today you will notice they have a picture of a room decorated for a birthday with balloons, presents and even a birthday cake. The company always likes to celebrate odd anniversaries by using pictures incorporated into its logo. Today’s anniversary is their own as they celebrate their 13th birthday.
Hello everyone. I just thought I would post a pic of me and my one true love, Eddie. These past few months have been really trying for a little Chimpton, but Eddie has always been there making sure I was ok, he’s a great listener and never interrupts and is always supportive. I truly love my bear and my bear loves me.
One thing we have noticed recently – we can no longer stand the sight or sound of Simon Cowbell. Once we couldn’t have imagined X Factor without Cowbell but now, mostly because of his handling of Cheryl Cole in America, we cannot stand the man or his arrogance. This week has seen him with egg on his face as the first edition of American X Factor was screened in America. Cowbell had previously said that Cheryl looked lost and no one could understand her accent in America. Now the critics are saying they loved her smiling, jokey manner and the fact she showed genuine concern for the acts she was seeing. They are even crooning over her accent which they can not only understand but actually love its cheeky tones.
Our good friends Aleksandr Orlov and Sergei have been visiting England from their native Russia during the past week or so. The pair have been on a touring holiday taking in Scotland, Newcastle and London seeing the sights and meeting some new and old friends. They have enjoyed their time in the UK but before leaving they did try to walk off with one of our famous land-marks.
The Bears and I were upset today to hear of the demise of one of our favourite bands, REM. The band that has been featured a record four times on BearTube have amicably decided to go their separate ways. The group found fame with a long line of multi-million selling albums including Automatic for the People, one of the best-selling albums of the 1990s.
