There will be no post tonight because we are on strike in support of the Public Sector workers who are being held to ransom over their future pensions. We hope today’s day of action proves to be the biggest walkout for a generation. Today schools and colleges are closed while hospitals are cancelling operations. Courts and government offices are amongst the disrupted services and yet this government will ignore it and blame militants. Prime Minister David Cameron has already described the strike as a “damp squid”. Well we would have to say there is only one “damp squid” we are aware of Mr Cameron – and he is the meant to be the country’s leader.

Thanks to everyone for the kind messages that Tedwood has been receiving since we told you all about his little operation yesterday. He is currently sitting up in bed watch Judge Judy and is now well on the mend and enjoying the extra movement he now has in his leg. It is still a little sore following the operation but he is expected to make a full recovery and regain full use of his right leg.
Today has been a very nervous day here at the Bear Sanctuary. “Tedwood” the Bear who arrived yesterday with a badly injured leg has been undergoing surgery at the Teddy Bear Hospital and we have all been sitting around waiting for news. According to the hospital, Tedwood has been operated on by non-trained personnel who had sewn his leg to his body in a way as to completely restrict the movement in his right leg.
It has been a busy day here at the Bear Sanctuary with the arrival of two Bears. Neither of the Bears have any idea where they have come from as they were both saved from charity shops by Sam and Anne. One of the Bears even has a damaged leg where he has obviously had some surgery. This has left him with a very stiff pelvis and finds it very difficult to move easily.
As of this afternoon, the blog has been viewed 925,852 times which in turn means we are fast approaching a million pages views over the last five years. This is an amazing achievement for what started out as a simple blog for a handful of Renault Bears and has grown into the monster that it is today with about 150 Bears. We have decided that the one-millionth person to view the blog should receive a brilliant prize to commemorate the special occasion. The only problem is, deciding what the fabulous prize should be.
Swearing at the police is no longer illegal because police officers hear foul-mouthed abuse that often they are no longer offended by it, or so a High Court judge has ruled. In a landmark judgement Mr Justice Bean overturned a public order conviction of a young man who repeatedly used the “F” word while the police searched him for drugs. However, the ruling has been condemned by Police Federation chiefs who claim it is “the wrong message to be sending out”.
Granny just caught me writing the previous post and was not impressed that I was putting it on the blog. She glared at me and was trying to think of a way to say that I was terrible for embarrassing her. You know, the way you might say to someone; “You don’t have a decent bone in your body”. However, what came out of her mouth was…
