It is time to get your thinking caps on and try your hand at this week’s Film Quiz. No cheating and using Google otherwise we may get temperamental and not accept your answer – you have been warned! In case you have not seen one of our Film Quizzes before, the rules are fairly simple. Just look at the picture below and if you think you know the film that the bears are watching then you are allowed ONE ATTEMPT ONLY at naming it and the actor in the foreground…

Razzi and I have been really busy this week and even today we have not finished work until late. This means we haven’t had time to write a post. However, seeing as everyone seems to enjoy our Open Nights or, as we like to call them, our “It’s Good To Talk” nights, we thought we would have one tonight. Whenever things are a little hectic around here we can think of no better way of having a little fun. In case you have been living in a hole for the last five years or you have not come across one before an Open Night is when literally anything goes. Confused? Okay, let me explain…

Nearly Four

We found this poem on the internet the other day and we just had to share it. Be warned, it is sad and guaranteed to bring a lump to anyone’s throat. It features a teddy bear who is waiting for tea-time at four o’clock but just like when you are hungry the clock never seems to move forward. He sits there waiting for the clock to strike four so the children will return and he can play tea-time games with them but there is a macabre secret lurking, waiting to ruin teddy’s day…

We have some great news to impart today. Last week we sent Einstein and Ellery as a delegation to Meerkovo to try and get Aleksandr into taking pity on poor Sergei. Their job was to talk Aleksandr into allowing him to come and join us here at Jammy Toast. After years of neglect and over-work at Compare the Meerkat, Sergei has been feeling tired and frail; well beyond his years. Now, a week later, Einstein and Ellery have returned – With Sergei!

This picture made us sad. We found it posted on a site under the title of abandonment, which makes it even sadder. Sometimes a teddy bear’s lot is not a happy one. They grow up with children who outgrow them and are then cast aside as the young adult doesn’t want to be associated with “children’s toys” any more. Poor Teddy is left all alone, abandoned, given away or even thrown out with the rubbish; no longer wanted by his owner. Sometimes life is rough when you’re a teddy bear…

No News From Meerkovo…

We have heard no news from Einstein and Ellery who, as you may remember, are on a mission to save Sergei from the evil paws of Aleksandr Orlov. We received a message from Einstein when he arrived in Russia and again when their plane landed in Meerkovo – but nothing since. We have all been holding our breaths here at Jammy Toast for news from the fearless duo but so far nothing. Meerkovo is not known for its modern communications technology so we are not overly concerned but we would like to know that both our bears and Sergei are in the best of health.

Hello and welcome to my monthly technology column. Quite a few of you have been complaining that Jammy Toast does not display properly on your phones and pads. We have also seen for ourselves that the 3D revolving slider on our homepage will not display at all on anything Apple; iMac, iPad or iPhone – simply because Apple refuses to support Flash. For the most part, this is something that is out of our hands. However, we have been looking for a responsive theme for Jammy Toast for some time now; but don’t hold your breath while you wait. At the moment we love the look of Jammy Toast and if we are to change it then there really will have to be something better out there before we make the move.

It is nearly two months since I last posted some of my illustrations because we have been so busy with other activities here at Jammy Toast. When things are busy I get pushed aside for more important posts unfortunately. However, I do carry on with my drawings and the last couple of months have been no exception. My favourite subject matter continues to be sights around Merseyside which means Davidd taking me around and waiting while I do some quick doodles ready to make the final illustration at home.

Delegation Heads To Meerkovo

Following the heart-breaking plea we received from Sergei yesterday, we have sent a delegation of bears to Meerkovo to see if we can offer our help. Einstein and Ellery flew from Liverpool airport this morning on an Aeroflot flight to Russia where they will get a connecting flight to take them on to Meerkovo. Once there they will arrange a meeting with Aleksandr at the Orlov Mansion and see if we can help Sergei to spend his old age relaxing and not working his paws to the bones.
