Granny decided she wanted to join Rico for his walk today when Rico met another dog out for her walk and decided the two of them were going to have a mad five minutes. They were running around chasing each other when Granny got caught in the middle of it. She went down like a sack of spuds and, to cut a long story short, she has broken her leg in two places. We are late tonight because we have all been up to Arrowe Park Hospital to give her some abuse. She is due to have an operation to fix her leg in the morning so we are going to be operating at reduced capacity this weekend. So we may as well make it an Open Weekend.
Edward is a bear who never rests on his laurels. He is always thinking of new ways to improve Jammy Toast and make it more interesting and consuming for everyone who comes to read it. He is always looking at new designs and themes with a view to utilising them here on the blog. Over the years we have been running Jammy Toast he has improved the theme half a dozen times but he has always wanted to write his own theme – one which is totally written to best highlight the exploits of our bears. That is what Edward’s next aim is.
We have decided to bring a new friend to Jammy Toast, his name is Horace. Horace is a bear with a wicked outlook on life who appears in the Daily Mirror from time-to-time. Unfortunately, he has to share his stage with Horace, the gormless cowboy and Horace a snake. We will include a cartoon strip at the bottom of each days post while we can but sooner or later we will run out of Horace’s so he will only be here while we can – don’t get too attached, you will miss him when he is gone.
Hello, my name is Bimbo. I am Great Uncle to all the bears even though I am not really a Renault Bear. I am a very old bear because I was bought for Davidd by his Grandparents on the day that he was born. That means I am currently 52 years old. I can remember many things that have happened in my lifetime and these are the things I am going to write about on my column. I will tell you of things that happened not just to Davidd and me, but things I can remember from television, news or anything else that comes into my head.
Saturday night is Movie Night here at Jammy Toast. Each week we will show a movie through the Jammy Toast Cinema for our friends who have registered prior to each event. We only have a certain amount of bandwidth and so, unfortunately, we cannot make these movies available to anyone who just happens to pop by. Any Friend of The Bears is eligible to watch each week’s movie by applying in the usual way. Those of you who have registered to watch this week’s movie will have received an email containing a password. If you click on the Media menu above, then click on Jammy Toast Cinema you will gain entry to the Bear Screen.
As we told everyone last month, we have a new Hound of Jammy Toast these days with our new mate Rico. Rico is our German Shepherd who joined us last month from those wonderful people over at the Dog’s Trust. When he joined us he came with a condition called Pancreatitis, which basically means he has a very delicate stomach and has to keep to a low-fat diet to stay in the best of health. His last lot of blood tests showed that his blood enzyme levels were six times higher than they should be. So during the month he has been with us he has kept to his diet but has also had the stress of living in a kennels removed from his life and following more blood tests today we can reveal all his blood levels are now back to normal.
