Let’s Talk Shit #4

Tonight is a “Let’s Talk Shit” night here on Jammy Toast, where we ask people to leave comments on just about any subject they choose. Funny or sad, true or false, real or fake; we don’t give a shit as long as it is entertaining and doesn’t really hurt anyone. We usually do this kind of thing when we are too busy to post anything else – and everyone seems to like the freedom to whine and bitch. The rules are pretty simple to explain – basically, anything goes!

Hello Everyone. I have been left right until the end of the month this month because so many things have been happening in and around Jammy Toast. We seem to have had in influx of new friends who have been making us laugh and indeed receiving quite a little attention in return. Bob had his own story posted the other day and Jon the Pigeon has been having us all laughing at his antics – luckily so far he has not shat on me. Who could forget Pakulu and his lusting after Miss Chimpton and in the last few days we have had The Clueless Kid and a Granny who has popped by a few times. It is nice to welcome new visitors to Jammy Toast but it doesn’t mean we have forgotten our older friends.

Edward’s Column #19

Hello everyone and welcome to my monthly technology column. Reading the news this week made me laugh when I read about California’s plans to make “revenge porn” illegal. For those not in the know, “revenge porn” is naked pictures of an ex- boyfriend or girlfriend who finishes with you so you publish personal pictures of them in revenge. The state was originally planning to make it illegal to post pictures even with that person’s consent. However, prosecutors would have to prove “the intent to cause serious emotional distress” and that the other person actually “suffers serious emotional distress”. First offenders could expect up to six months in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both.

Open Invitation

We got some stick yesterday because we invited Bob to write yesterday’s post. A few of our friends wanted to know why someone who has only been visiting Jammy Toast for such a short time was invited to write for us when they have never received an invitation. This is nonsense. We have asked people to submit stories for us to use on Jammy Toast for a long time and the only people who have ever done so are Aleksandr, Amie, Andrea, Linzi and a certain Miss Chimpton. To say we have shown any favouritism towards Bob is rubbish.

My Name Is Boring Bob

Hello, my name is Boring Bob and Davidd has asked me to come and introduce myself. I am not quite sure what to write because I am considered quite a boring guy. I am the kind of guy who girls always overlook while they are busy throwing themselves at the “bad boy” types. I gain the gift of invisibility while girls crowd around the hotshot jerks who will treat them badly and then blow them out. I don’t understand this. I feel like I know how to treat women well but some of my friends say the problem might be that I am too boring. However, I have to ask, is that such a terrible thing?

Microsoft have announced today that our favourite CEO is to retire during the next 12 months, once a replacement can be found. Steve Ballmer is the larger than life chief executive who walks into a room and entertains everyone in it – Ricky Gervais has got nothing on Steve. He is currently overseeing the transformation of Microsoft into a devices and services company but feels that someone younger who has more time to dedicate to the company would be a better prospect. He said in a statement; “There is never a perfect time for this type of transition, but now is the right time. We need a CEO who will be here longer term for this new direction.”

Agroup of residents from a retirement home in the Isle of Wight have begun a campaign for a memorial plague to a well-known local cat. Smudge the cat spent much of his life at the bus stop outside the home in Shanklin and became a good friend to many commuters, school children and passers-by. After his death last week at the age of 22, his owner Ronni Hickson put a poster at the bus stop to inform people of his passing. Now, as a special tribute to the Smudge, Southern Vectis Bus Company says it is considering renaming the stop after Smudge as a lasting tribute.

Hello, my name is Bimbo. I am Great Uncle to all the bears even though I am not really a Renault Bear myself. It is a bit of an honorary title because I am a very old bear. In fact, I was bought for Davidd by his Grandparents on the day that he was born many years ago. I can remember many things that have happened in my lifetime and these are the things I write about in my column. I will tell you of things that happened not just to Davidd and me, but things I can remember from television, news or anything else that comes into my head.
