Today we are continuing our series of articles on our favourite fictional characters from our favourite telly shows. As you all know, the bears love their telly programmes and there is nothing they love more than finding a character they love to love… or even love to hate. The bears don’t usually go for the clean-cut, heroic types they are more likely to identify with the slackers of society, people like Frank Gallagher or Jim Royle. Today, we are featuring

Anew Winnie-the-Pooh adventure has been released to celebrate both the 90th birthday of the Queen and one of Jammy Toast’s favourite bears. “Winnie-the-Pooh and the Royal Birthday” sees the much-loved bear travel to Buckingham Palace with Christopher Robin and friends, Piglet and Eeyore. The free story has been written by Jane Riordan and is illustrated in the classic EH Shepard style. It is available as an audio-video download, narrated by Jim Broadbent. The Queen officially celebrates her 90th birthday on 11th June, although her actual birthday is 21st April. The first Winnie-the-Pooh book, written by AA Milne, was published in October 1926, though the bear ‘of very little brain’ had previously featured in a poem and a tale in a newspaper.

There is nothing more we love here at Jammy Toast than listening to some of our favourite tunes. From time to time we will post a music video from an artist or genre that we think will be enjoyable to you; our friends. We often feature music that you may not have come across before, or music that maybe you just missed the first time around. Try and listen with an open mind, you never know, you may find something you can add to your iPod. If you have any music videos you would like us to feature then drop us a line – we are always happy to listen to requests but we cannot promise to feature everyone’s favourite…

Today, we continue our series of posts featuring our favourite films. There is nothing the bears love more than settling around the telly to watch one of our favourite films. Here at Jammy Toast, some of those films have been watched over and over and we would like nothing better than sharing them with you. Our tastes are many and varied as we enjoy films from some of our favourite directors and actors, some of whom we just love everything they do. So today, we continue our tour of some of our favourite movies of all time with Dreamcatcher.

Today we are going to ask everyone who visits Jammy Toast to just “Talk Shit” for the day. We ask that anyone who visits Jammy Toast today leaves a comment on just about any subject they choose. Funny or sad, true or false, real or fake; we don’t give a shit as long as it is entertaining and doesn’t really hurt anyone. We ask you to do this because we are too busy to think of anything else to post – hopefully everyone will like the freedom to whine and bitch. The rules are pretty simple to explain – basically, anything goes!

Cecil the Lion’s grandcubs have been pictured for the first time.

Remember that disgusting American dentist, Walter Palmer, who shot Cecil the Lion while on a hunting holiday in Zimbabwe? Well it looks like the story has a happy ending after all. The picture above shows Cecil the Lion’s new-born ‘grandcubs’ walking with their protective mum near to where their grandad was shot dead with a bow and arrow by Walter Palmer. The cubs, sons of Cecil’s five-year-old son Xanda, were pictured inside the 14,000 square mile Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe.

Here at Jammy Toast we love dogs. We have had a number of dogs over the years and currently Rico lives with us. Rico didn’t have the best start to life after his first owner died and he ended up needing rehoming via the Dogs Trust. Unfortunately, following an accident, Rico’s second owner ended up in a wheelchair which Rico thought would make a great target for his playful attacks – hence, he ended up back at Dog’s Trust looking for his third home and that’s when we stepped in. He has ended up in a happy home in the end but, alas, not all stories end the same way…
