Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a great bank holiday weekend and apologies to Flat Eric for stealing his Sunday slot but I have some great news to depart – or at least I think it is great. For some time now, we have been struggling trying to decide what to do with all the old posts which made up Jammy Toast before the re-launch in 2015 – we started in 2006, so that is 9 years’ worth of Toast. First we tried to restore all the old posts but that was proving too disruptive and time-consuming for the Jammy Toast site and it would have taken many, many months to complete. We needed a better plan.

The Story Of The Dominican Republic

The other day my Dad told you the story of our holiday to Portugal, so I thought I would tell you the story of our holiday to the Dominican Republic – or at least, part of it. The particular day in question my Dad had gone out on an excursion on a yacht and, as I don’t do travelling on water too well, I had stayed behind on a very hot day sipping drinks around the pool. Now before long the heat was beginning to get the better of me and, although I don’t like cold water, I just had to have a little dip in the swimming pool. Who could blame me, the weather was absolutely baking!

Talking Shit #49

Today we are going to ask everyone who visits Jammy Toast to just “Talk Shit” for the day. We ask that anyone who visits Jammy Toast leaves a comment on just about any subject they choose. Funny or sad, true or false, real or fake; we don’t give a shit as long as it is entertaining and doesn’t really hurt anyone. We ask you to do this because we are too busy to think of anything else to post – hopefully everyone will like the freedom to whine and bitch. The rules are pretty simple to explain – basically, anything goes!

A Day At The Museum

Here at Jammy Toast we love our brand new, shiny toys. Give us a new smartphone, or tablet and we are as happy as pigs in… well, whatever pigs are happy in. Give us a new PC and the hairs on our backs raise at the thrill of setting it up and making it all work smoothly. However, as much as we enjoy the thrill of the latest technology, we also hold a special place in our geeky hearts for classic technology from the days of yore. With this in mind, we were over the moon to hear that a guy called Andy Spencer has opened a Retro Computer Museum (RCM) in Leicester.

We never did find out who the strange person in the pool was.

Just lately I have been reading through many old posts to decide which ones to include in our Old Toast feature. Suddenly it hit me – we never did tell the story of our adventure in Portugal here on Jammy Toast. Now the main thing about Miss Chimpton is on the outside she is quite an outgoing individual but on the inside she is actually quite shy. She is quite often very outgoing when it comes to the male of the species also, but that is usually when she has Daddy or someone else backing her up. When she is alone or thinks someone has serious intensions towards her, she freezes and she gets rather embarrassed of the attention.

Seagull Bites Off More Than He Can Chew

It has to be said that Seagulls are known for the occasional dive-bomb or cheeky chip thefts but one Seagull has taken it to a whole new level. Pictured above is the offending gull that has managed to get its beak on someone’s false teeth. Here at Jammy Toast we have to confess the gull does strike a remarkable resemblance to our good friend Steven Seagull. Whatever his identity, just how the bird got hold of the dentures remains a mystery but Twitter is full of speculation.

Eric Meets… Daniel Craig

Ihad no idea that Daniel Craig was born in Chester but apparently he started acting in school plays when he was young. He was encouraged to try his hand at acting by his mother who would often take him to the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool. He moved to London when he was 16, where he worked at odd jobs while pursuing his acting career. Hollywood discovered him in 2001, when he was chosen to co-star with Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider. He co-starred with Paul Newman and Tom Hanks in Road to Perdition. In 2004 he was cast as a cocaine dealer in Layer Cake, and it was this movie that showed he had what it would take to become the legendary and mythical James Bond. Casino Royale became the most successful James Bond movie, followed by Quantum of Solace then our favourite Bond film; Skyfall, before his last outing in Spectre. He has also starred in another of our favourite films; The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Today, Daniel calls into Jammy Toast to have a chat with Eric…
