At the beginning of the year, we launched The Renault Bears’ website and the plan was to move all future bear posts over to that site while leaving Jammy Toast as the site for everyone else. The amount of space to post articles has been reduced here since the arrival of Andreaa, Lestly, Mr Benn, AA Milne, Aleksandr Orlov and Michael Bond. This is a nice problem to have because it means that Jammy Toast is growing as time passes us by. However, it also mean that there simply aren’t enough days in the week to post everything. So, we took the step of starting a new blog just for the bears – no humans allowed.
We bears are finding it more and more difficult to actually post things here on Jammy Toast. The amount of space for us to post any articles has been reduced because of the arrival of Andreaa, Lestly, Mr Benn, AA Milne, Aleksandr Orlov and Michael Bond. We are not blaming these people or Mr Bearkeeper but we like posting on the blog and currently find it difficult squeezing in – there simply aren’t enough days in the week. So, we have taken the step of starting our very own blog; Renault Bears. This new blog will be a blog for teddy bears only. No humans are allowed although we don’t mean this in a nasty way, just that we want to blog when we want and not when we can find some limited space.
Ikeep backups of all kinds of files and folders from different computers and laptops I have owned over the years. At the weekend, I found a folder containing the favourites from an old copy of Internet Explorer. Amongst the list of sites I used to frequent was a collection of blogs I used to read. It’s Sunday and I had time on my hands so I thought I would have a look at some of these sites and see how people who used to share their lives with me were getting on these days.
We did mention on the old Jammy Toast how we started blogging but for those who were wondering or those of you who are new to Jammy Toast you may be lost. So today, I thought we might explain the importance of socks on your head. In the summer of 2006, Ananasty – an old friend of the bears – used to go out gallivanting on Sunday afternoons. I would pick her up and we would go and play golf or go bowling or some adventure or other. Occasionally we might go to the cinema and watch a film, which if it was boring usually ended in us having a “sock fight” or some other interesting pastime.
Please excuse Jammy Toast from going missing for the last few days, we have been playing around with the new version of X. I say “we” but what I really mean is “Edward”. He has been experimenting and finding out just what is possible with the new version of X and its new page-builder; “Cornerstone”. Furthermore, he is thinking of redesigning the home page using some of the new design elements available through X and Cornerstone. Watch this space for future developments…
Well at last it has happened, after waiting for what seems like a lifetime, we finally got our paws on the new version of our theme. X Version 4 has now been implemented on Jammy Toast with the new page-builder, simply called Cornerstone. This is a standalone plugin with a custom frontend interface for building pages and posts with the integrated shortcodes. This takes the place of the X Shortcodes and will ultimately take over from Visual Composer. We already have plans for some new features on Jammy Toast to demonstrate just what X can do.
The people who make our WordPress theme, Themeco, have told us that a big update is on the way. They are currently on the final stretch and if all goes according to plan, they will be releasing the latest version towards the end of this week. This is a big update and is causing a great deal of excitement with Edward who no doubt will be installing it as soon as he gets hold of it. Themeco have packed in some exciting things with this update but so far and just building up the suspense and not revealing just what they are as yet.
While everyone has hopefully been enjoying their Easter Bank Holiday, Edward has been hard at work restoring all the old Posts featuring Miss Chimpton, Ananasty and Davidd. Some of the stories are quite amusing and also show just how naughty the terrible trio used to be. The restored posts cover the period from June 2006 through to December 2006 featuring some wonderful stories. Who can forget the Story of Mick, Princess Natalie and the Lighthouse, Antony Cadillac, The Romance between Miss Chimpton and Speedo Trunks Man. Who can forget the day Lisa dared to step out of the house in her Jarmies with a hangover or Chimpton in her Flasher coat?
We have mentioned before about how and why Jammy Toast started but I don’t think we have ever told the story about how we started blogging in the first place. So, I thought today we might put that right. In the summer of 2006, Ananasty and I used to go out gallivanting on a Sunday afternoons. I would pick her up and we would go and play golf or go bowling or some adventure or other. Occasionally we might go to the cinema and watch a film, which if it was boring usually ended up in us having a “sock fight” or some other interesting pastime.
We just thought we would pass on a big thanks for the help everyone is giving us with our new-look Jammy Toast. Some of the pages are not working properly yet but Edward is working on it so hopefully everything will be working as it should soon. In the meantime, if you spot something which you do not think is working correctly it would be great if you could just pass the details along to Edward. If you could include all relevant details like what happened, what you were trying to do when it happened and include details of the device you were using like a PC or a MAC or Tablet/Pad/Phone.
