In the years before Jim Royle came along there was Alf Garnett sitting in his chair and keeping the country entertained with his racist, bigoted views on the world. Despite his prejudiced views on everything the country loved him because everyone knew someone who was just like him. Everyone here at Jammy Toast loved him as the nation’s favourite bigot and so today we were saddened to learn of the death of actor Warren Mitchell who played him in “Till Death Us Do Part” from 1966 until 1975 and then reprised the role from 1985 to 1992 in “In Sickness And In Heath”.
