Here at Jammy Toast we love Doctor Who even though we have not been a big fan of Peter Capaldi – Matt Smith was great though. So our interest was piqued this week when Capaldi announced he was to step down as the Time Lord. Now, however, former Doctor’s Assistant Billie Piper has said she thinks it is time for a woman to take on the role of the famous time traveller. Piper, who played companion Rose Tyler, said it would “feel like a snub” if the role didn’t go to a woman. “I’ve always supported the original format but I don’t know where they can go from here,” she said.
Doctor Who star Matt Smith has upset us all here at Jammy Toast by announcing that he will quite the part of the Time Lord at the end of this year. Matt has spent the past four years playing Doctor Who and during that time has been our all-time favourite Doctor. He will regenerate during the Christmas special this year. The 30-year-old said working on the show had been “the most brilliant experience”. Doctor Who marks its 50th anniversary in November with a special episode, which has already been filmed. The BBC said Smith’s “spectacular exit” was yet to be revealed and would be “kept tightly under wraps”.
While we were searching for a picture of Doctor Who yesterday, to include in yesterday post regarding people releasing scripts prior to transmission, we came across a picture of Amy Pond. There is nothing wrong with that normally, considering she is the current Doctor’s assistant, but this picture had been “doctored” to make it appear Amy Pond was posing for topless pictures.
The Bears are all big fans of Doctor Who and we are all currently enjoying the new series on Saturday evenings. We would even go so far as to say that Matt Smith is the best Doctor there has ever been and Amy Pond is definitely our favourite Time-Lord’s companion.
We are pleased to announce today, that two more Bears are on the way to us. One of the Bears, who is currently called Alpine, was nearly sabotaged. Someone started bidding against us and drove the price up to over £8. Unfortunately for them, they did not know they were up against Edward who made sure we won the auction for Alpine. He should be on his way to us today.
