It was just another ordinary day in Festive Road. My neighbours were looking at plants and children were chasing cats. I decided to go for a walk. I passed the pet shop and the florist and then I recognised the lane that lead to the costume shop. I stepped inside and wondered what would be in keeping with all the animals and plants I had been seeing. “A hunter’s costume, Sir?” suggested the shopkeeper, and pointed me in the direction of the changing room.
Here at Jammy Toast we love a nice photograph, especially one displaying love and affection. Here in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park, two elephants show their affections for one another with suitably romantic trunk hugs. In the park, most of the elephants are found near the river, with herds descending to the dusty banks to drink. Large crocodiles laze on sandbanks and at dusk hundreds of hippo leave their pools and lumber up the banks to graze. Impala are common and giraffe can be seen in the dappled forests. Wildebeest, zebra, waterbuck, bushbuck, grysbok and oribi are also found. Predators abound with lions, spotted hyena and leopards always a highlight!
Afriend of my daughters was at a loss for someone to look after her 6 year old, after being let down at the last minute. Having no major plans for the day I volunteered my services. I was met with laughter from my daughter who wanted to know how I would entertain a 6 year old on the spare of the moment.
