We had a great Christmas day yesterday, eating turkey and scoffing sweets and of course the bears eating their Jammy Toast – just generally having a great festive time. I even spent half-an-hour trying to get a whistle from a cracker to make a whistling noise before eventually realising it was a sellotape dispenser. Much to the amusement of everyone. In fact, a good time was had by all and even though we learned that George Michael had died later in the day, even that didn’t ruin the high spirits. However, this morning we heard the sad story of the Milk Carton Kids mystery…
Hello Everyone and a Happy New Year. I don’t know if I am coming or going lately with all these celebrities being arrested for kiddie-fiddling. I was watching Granada Reports the other evening when they did a feature of Ken Dodd. I love Ken Dodd he is one of the funniest and nicest men there has ever been. However, for one horrible moment when I saw he was on the telly my heart missed a beat because for a second I thought he might be the latest celebrity to be caught. Thankfully that wasn’t the case and all my memories of Ken Dodd are safe! The only problem is though, just how many more celebrities are sitting at home clenching their bum cheeks every time there is a knock on the door? It is beginning to ruin my childhood memories of some great celebrities who I grew up with because now, every time I think of someone I used to admire, I wonder if they were at it too!
The two biggest search engine companies, Google and Microsoft, have agreed to block searches of thousands of phrases which could lead to people finding child abuse images on the internet. As many as 100,000 terms will now present no results but instead will display a warning that child abuse images are illegal. This follows government warnings that if the two companies did not act quickly then they would bring in new legislation to force them to act. Our own IT expert Edward, has warned that this will have little effect as most of these images are stored on hidden networks which are not logged by Google of Microsoft’s Bing.
Hello Everyone. I don’t know if I am coming or going lately with all these celebrities being arrested for kiddie-fiddling. I went to bed last night and when I got up this morning Davidd tells me another bloody one has been at it. When is it this going to end? Just how many more celebrities are sitting at home clenching their bum cheeks every time there is a knock on the door? It is beginning to ruin my childhood memories of some great celebrities who I grew up with because now, every time I think of someone I used to admire, I wonder if they were at it too!
Today we have heard the news that Stuart Hall has admitted indecent assaults on underage girls, one as young as nine. He is the latest in a long line of celebrities to be charged with similar offences since the Jimmy Savile allegations came to light. How many more are going to be caught? How widespread are these attacks which seem to surround the BBC studios of the 1960s and 70s? You might ask why we are asking these questions on Jammy Toast, but these are stars we have grown up idolising. This is our childhood memories being destroyed through these accusations.
The Bears were actually shocked today to learn the lengths some will go to damage the reputation of poor Teddy Bears. Apparently, in America, they are using a Bear to teach children of the dangers that lurk on the Internet from Paedophiles. They liken Paedophiles to Bears because although they may look cute and cuddly; in reality they would rip your face off. Just as paedophiles may pretend to be your friend when really they have other motives.
