James Bolam and Rodney Bewes in Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads.

One of our favourite actors here at Jammy Toast, The Likely Lads’ Rodney Bewes, has died at the age of 79. He found fame as the aspirational Bob in the BBC sitcom The Likely Lads and Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads. The series teamed Bewes with fellow actor, James Bolam, and drew in audiences of more than twenty million. Despite their success, the two fell out in spectacular style – effectively ending any chance of the series being continued. Sadly, it turned out to be the peak of Bewes’ career and he later found himself reduced to playing a series of less distinguished roles.
