Gordon Banks covered in mud, they wouldn’t play in conditions like that night today!

Davidd and I are 57 years old next month and during those years we have watched some great sporting events. Today, we would like to continue our series of posts where we recall our memories of those events featuring some of our greatest heroes. We have lived through England winning the World Cup (we were a little young, though), Muhammad Ali’s greatest fights, Stoke City winning the League Cup and Botham’s Ashes. Some great times and even more great memories which we hope to share with you during the coming months. Today we would like to share our memories off

Today we are going to ask everyone who visits Jammy Toast to just “Talk Shit” for the day. We ask that anyone who visits Jammy Toast leaves a comment on just about any subject they choose. Funny or sad, true or false, real or fake; we don’t give a shit as long as it is entertaining and doesn’t really hurt anyone. We ask you to do this because we are too busy to think of anything else to post – hopefully everyone will like the freedom to whine and bitch. The rules are pretty simple to explain – basically, anything goes!

The Chimpton and I were playing around on the internet last night – the details of which are definitely a story for another day, if ever – when we came across a rather interesting story. The headline stated that a suspicious stranger had been arrested loitering around a house following a complaint from the owner. When the arresting officer asked the guy for identification he said he didn’t have any but he was Bob Dylan – a likely story. As we all know, Bob likes to wear hoodies in public and hangs around empty houses in the middle of the night – yea, right. However, we are aware that Bob does like to stay inconspicuous and just maybe this time it had led to his detainment. The following is the story from the ABC News website and it goes like this

The other day it was pouring down with rain and Granny was looking anxious. I asked her what was wrong and she said she had to visit Lidl, Iceland and Asda and she was going to get soaked. I offered my assistance in running her around to get her bits and pieces of shopping but she would hear none of it. I thought to myself, well at least I have offered and she has turned me down, I shall go and watch Jezza instead. Twenty minutes later she was there; “You couldn’t run me to the shops could you, seeing as you’re doing nothing?” I replied that I was doing nothing twenty minutes earlier when I first offered to take her. “No you didn’t,” she replied – a normal conversation these days.

The Last Word On Nudist Beaches

Last week we told of some of our holiday adventures where we had “accidentally” ended up on nudist beaches. I have put the word “accidentally” in quotes because a number of people have doubted that it was an accident. We have been accused of deliberately setting out to Perv at people with no clothes on – as if we would do that. So I thought I would come along today and put these people straight. While it is true that we have seen some very attractive people sunbathing topless on beaches around the world. The vast majority of people we have seen sunbathing naked on nudist beaches are a different matter altogether. Most of these people are either elderly, fat, ugly or burnt to a crisp. Before The Chimpton says anything, I include myself in all those categories.

It is difficult to realise the impact that the events of 11th September 2001 had on the world when you look back today. Time has soothed the memories and the pain of events which started at 8:45am when American Airlines Boring 767 Flight 11 collided with the World Trade Centre’s north tower in New York City. This event killed hundreds of people immediately and trapped hundreds more in the 110-story skyscraper. Eighteen minutes later, a second Boeing 767, United Airlines Flight 175, flew into the south tower. Both towers were now on fire with burning debris covering the surrounding buildings and streets below while many jumped from the towers to their deaths in an attempt to escape.

There is nothing more we love here at Jammy Toast than listening to some of our favourite tunes. From time to time we will post a music video from an artist or genre that we think will be enjoyable to you; our friends. We often feature music that you may not have come across before, or music that maybe you just missed the first time around. Try and listen with an open mind, you never know, you may find something you can add to your iPod. If you have any music videos you would like us to feature then drop us a line – we are always happy to listen to requests but we cannot promise to feature everyone’s favourite…
