Today, we continue our series of posts featuring our favourite films. There is nothing the bears love more than settling around the telly to watch one of our favourite films. Here at Jammy Toast, some of those films have been watched over and over and we would like nothing better than sharing them with you. Our tastes are many and varied as we enjoy films from some of our favourite directors and actors, some of whom we just love everything they do. So today, we continue our tour of some of our favourite movies of all time with Alien.
Winnie-the-Pooh is a fictional anthropomorphic teddy bear created by AA Milne. The first collection of his stories were in the book Winnie-the-Pooh (1926), and this was followed by The House at Pooh Corner (1928). He named the character Winnie-the-Pooh after a teddy bear owned by his son, Christopher Robin Milne, who was the basis for the character Christopher Robin. The rest of Christopher Robin Milne’s toys – Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo and Tigger – were also incorporated into Milne’s stories. Two more characters, Owl and Rabbit, were created by Milne’s imagination. Here at Jammy Toast, we are pleased to bring you some of his tales which have made Pooh probably the most famous bear in the world…
Afew years ago, we decided to take ourselves off on a little winter holiday to Cyprus. The island is advertised as the “all-year round island” because it attracts the sun all year round. Don’t believe a word of it, although it is t-shirt weather most of the time, the evenings are freezing and the sea and swimming pools are equivalent to Antarctica – I swear I saw a penguin in our swimming pool. However, we really couldn’t complain. We booked to stay in the Club St George which is a self-catering complex next to the St George Hotel. At the last minute they decided to close the club for refurbishment and so we got a free upgrade to an all-inclusive holiday at the 5-star hotel.
There is nothing we love more here at Jammy Toast than listening to some of our favourite tunes. From time to time we will post a music video from an artist or genre that we think will be enjoyable to you; our friends. We often feature music that you may not have come across before, or music that maybe you just missed the first time around. Try and listen with an open mind, you never know, you may find something you can add to your iPod. If you have any music videos you would like us to feature then drop us a line – we are always happy to listen to requests but we cannot promise to feature everyone’s favourite…
Hi everyone, hope you have all had a great week. Monday night saw the draw for the first round of the FA Cup. Tranmere got a home draw to either Hemel Hempstead Town or Oxford City. Meanwhile, Tuesday night saw us travel to Forest Green Rovers who are flying high in Division Two. They climbed back into the play-off places at our expense after they got the better of us with a 3-1 win.
It was just another ordinary day in Festive Road. My neighbours were looking at plants and children were chasing cats. I decided to go for a walk. I passed the pet shop and the florist and then I recognised the lane that lead to the costume shop. I stepped inside and wondered what would be in keeping with all the animals and plants I had been seeing. “A hunter’s costume, Sir?” suggested the shopkeeper, and pointed me in the direction of the changing room.
