Talking Shit #157

Today we are going to ask everyone who visits Jammy Toast to just “Talk Shit” for the day. We ask that anyone who visits Jammy Toast leaves a comment on just about any subject they choose. Funny or sad, true or false, real or fake; we don’t give a shit as long as it is entertaining and doesn’t really hurt anyone. We ask you to do this because we are too busy to think of anything else to post – hopefully everyone will like the freedom to whine and bitch. The rules are pretty simple to explain – basically, anything goes!

Message From Aleksandr Orlov

Aleksandr hears the news that there is no cheque.

Today we have received a message from Aleksandr Orlov for payment for his recent posts here on Jammy Toast. I don’t know where he got the idea that we pay people for posts but he is definitely wrong. As everyone who posts here on our blog will confirm, everyone contributes to our little community as a labour of love – it is not undertaken for financial gain. It is very upsetting to hear that the Orlov family mansion’s roof is leaking and in need of repair but it is not our duty to pay for the repair. I suggest Aleksandr gets a roofer in and pays him for his labours and stops being a son of a mongoose. Just for the record, here is Aleksandr’s message…

Iwas throwing some old computer magazines out the other day and I couldn’t help but have a little nose inside before committing them to landfill. At article inside caught my eye which consisted of the journalists who work for the magazine reminiscing about their very first computers. It started me thinking about my first computer, or more to the point, the first computer that I loved and would argue with other computer owners over whose was best. That computer was the Atari 500ST. I had owned other computers before that one but this was the first computer that I would have gone out to bat for.

The other month we finished posting the Winnie The Pooh stories from the book Winnie-The-Pooh, which was written by AA Milne and first published in 1926. That was the full extent of our Pooh collection and so we couldn’t post any more. Now I am pleased to announce that we have managed to get hold of a copy of the follow-up Pooh book entitled The House At Pooh Corner (1928). Starting next month we will be posting these stories mainly because everyone seemed to enjoy them so much. We have never really been a great fan of Pooh here at Jammy Toast – instead preferring Paddington Bear – but this changed recently when Andreaa introduced us to the joys of AA Milne.

Today we are continuing our series of posts on our favourite telly shows of the past. As you all know, the bears love their telly and there is nothing they love more than finding a character they can love to love… or even love to hate. The bears don’t usually go for the clean-cut, heroic types they are more likely to identify with the slackers of society, people like Frank Gallagher, Jim Royle or Homer Simpson. They like programmes which are “off the wall” although occasionally they will enjoy serious drama if it is interesting and well written. Today, we are featuring

There is nothing we love more here at Jammy Toast than listening to some of our favourite tunes. From time to time we will post a music video from an artist or genre that we think will be enjoyable to you; our friends. We often feature music that you may not have come across before, or music that maybe you just missed the first time around. Try and listen with an open mind, you never know, you may find something you can add to your iPod. If you have any music videos you would like us to feature then drop us a line – we are always happy to listen to requests but we cannot promise to feature everyone’s favourite

Pot Noodle’s Say #6

Last time I started talkin’ about shoppin’ and how birds love it and lads hate it. The worse thing to any scouse lad is not just goin’ shoppin’ but going shopping with his bird. Scouse birds are even worse than ya normal birds because they all own mirrors that distort the colours and shape of new clothes. Why is it, they can walk around town, all day to finally find a dress they love. The dress that seems to emotionally move them in some way. The dress that they actually love more than there own family. Then they get the dress home… They fuckin’ hate it! How does that happen… love in the shop, hate in the house?
