Gordon the Gopher, the 1980s children’s TV puppet known for his irritating squeak and lively fashion sense, is to return after spending years in rehab. Gordon will appear as a washed-up celeb who has recently returned from a spell in rehab and is jealous of the success found by his former Children’s BBC co-presenter Phillip Schofield. For the first time, the rodent will also be given a speaking role, voiced by Life’s Too Short actor Warwick Davis.

MacMillan Cancer Research have confirmed that the Royle Family star, who has previously had bladder and eye cancer, would speak at an appeal to improve cancer care in Manchester on 26th June. Caroline Denise said of the appeal; “I’ve had cancer and my brother’s had cancer and we know how it affects people.”
