And The Beat Goes On…

Iam short, yellow and cuddly and I spawned a legion of fans in love with my nonchalance and exceedingly flat head. My head-banging, finger-tapping style swiftly became the brightest star in ad-land after my debut in 1999 alongside my rather melancholic pal Angel. I was promoting Levi’s Sta-Prest jeans in a spot devised by my friend Quentin Dupieux, the French Partisan film director, DJ and electro artist who is also known as Mr Oizo. With the nation’s hearts won over, the track that accompanied the ad, topped charts across Europe. The campaign began as a one-off burst of three ads, but public response was so overwhelming that Levi’s brought me and Angel back for a six-week encore in August and September that year that saw us dodging the police and getting squashed by a giant hot dog.

Usually on Sunday, I play music videos for you all to enjoy but this week I thought we would have a change. Some of our more recent followers may not even know who I am and why I was employed by Davidd to DJ our musical Sundays. You see I was once a pop star, even if only for a short time. I was created Quentin Dupieux better known under his stage name of Mr Oizo. I was based on a dog-like puppet called Stéphane that was similar, but with ears and the hands were fixed. Stéphane appeared in some short films by Mr Oizo (including a music video for the track M-Seq), and had a small cult following in the United Kingdom and France. In March 1999, Levi’s decided to build a television commercial campaign around me, which was directed by Oizo.

Today I thought I would interview Davidd and ask him some of the questions many of the bears would love an answer to. Davidd started blogging way back in 2006 and during that time has been involved in some great stunts and so we thought who better to interview than the great man himself. We thought we would ask him some questions based on Jammy Toast but also on the universe as a whole. After all, to us bears, Davidd is the oracle of all wisdom – even Chimpton calls him The Wise Old Owl…

Tranmere Rovers are ninety minutes away from reclaiming a place in the Football League today. Here at Jammy Toast we are on edge and nervous about the outcome of today’s game. However, for someone with his heart and money invested in the fortunes of Tranmere, Mark Palios is remarkably relaxed about the fine line between waking up as the owner of a Football League or National League club on Monday morning. “You cannot rely on one game, you have to step back,” he says of the National League play-off final against Forest Green Rovers.

Ihad no idea that Daniel Craig was born in Chester but apparently he started acting in school plays when he was young. He was encouraged to try his hand at acting by his mother who would often take him to the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool. He moved to London when he was 16, where he worked at odd jobs while pursuing his acting career. Hollywood discovered him in 2001, when he was chosen to co-star with Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider. He co-starred with Paul Newman and Tom Hanks in Road to Perdition. In 2004 he was cast as a cocaine dealer in Layer Cake, and it was this movie that showed he had what it would take to become the legendary and mythical James Bond. Casino Royale became the most successful James Bond movie, followed by Quantum of Solace then our favourite Bond film; Skyfall, before his last outing in Spectre. He has also starred in another of our favourite films; The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Today, Daniel calls into Jammy Toast to have a chat with Eric…

Hello everyone, my name is Eric. I am a teddy bear from Jammy Toast and this is my column. Today I have come to interview our favourite panel show regular, cardigan wearer and self-proclaimed worrier Jon Richardson. He is currently on tour and features tomorrow night on C4 at 10pm in How To Survive The End Of The World with his wife, comedian Lucy Beaumont, where they investigate the chances of their biggest irrational fears actually happening…

People have asked many times in the past why the Jammy Toast website is black and white with touches of red. The Bearkeeper has answered this by explaining that the Renault Bears can only see in black and white because they have a reduced number of stems or something in their eyes. I don’t quite understand the science behind this but that is the reasoning. However, because the bears have eaten so much Jammy Toast over the years they have developed their eyesight so that they can now also see jammy red – hence Jammy Toast is black, white and red. This is fair enough but what about me? What about yellow?
