There is nothing we love more here at Jammy Toast than listening to some of our favourite tunes. From time to time we will post a music video from an artist or genre that we think will be enjoyable to you; our friends. We often feature music that you may not have come across before, or music that maybe you just missed the first time around. Try and listen with an open mind, you never know, you may find something you can add to your iPod. If you have any music videos you would like us to feature then drop us a line – we are always happy to listen to requests but we cannot promise to feature everyone’s favourite

“Chandelier” is a song by Sia from her sixth studio album, 1000 Forms of Fear. Written by Sia and Jesse Shatkin and produced by Shatkin and Greg Kurstin, the song was released on 17th March 2014 as the lead single from the album. Lyrically, the song has a melancholic theme, detailing the demoralisation and rationalisation of alcoholism through the thought process of a “party girl”. More broadly, the song speaks to the fleeting feelings of release and abandon that come with intoxication, as well as the pain, guilt and emptiness that accompany addiction, alcoholism and hedonistic excesses.

The single received critical acclaim and reached the top ten on record charts in many countries including USA, UK, France, Italy, Poland, Norway, Australia and New Zealand. In the United States, the single became Sia’s first single as a lead artist to appear on the Hot 100, and sold over 2 million copies in the country. The song received four nominations at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, with its video receiving a nomination for Best Music Video.

A music video for the song, directed by Sia and Daniel Askill, and choreographed by Ryan Heffington, features dancer Maddie Ziegler. Sia had seen Ziegler on US Reality Show, Dance Moms, and asked her to appear in the video via Twitter. The video was directed by Sia and Daniel Askill, shot by cinematographer Sebastian Wintero and was choreographed by Ryan Heffington.

The video has been viewed on YouTube more than 2.2 billion times.

Enjoy…

  1. Bit of spare time on my hands today so I audited an unopened Quality Street tin. Just 4 purples (4.7%) and yet a massive 11 (12.9%) orange ones. Another blow for 2020. Who do I complain to?

The purple ones n the green triangles are the best and honestly every other answer is wrong x

My humans persevere in walking me to campus by the “southern passage”, a safer route, in the hope that I’ll take that path when I walk back on my own. There’s parts of the route where I go fast & parts slower. Along a wall is the fastest part of all.

  3. I can face the winter with calm. I’d been thinking of the winter as a horrid, wet, dreary time. Now I can see other things-crisp and sparkling days, long pleasant evenings, cheery fires. Good work shall be done this winter. Life shall be lived well.

  4. I tried to explain to Barbara that it will soon be Christmas but he got confused. I showed him the beautiful Christmas stockings that Maria made for charity and then he understood. My human says Maria makes other things too.

  5. Having my hair cut would have helped the weight loss programme considerably but a few grams will go once I have had a little trim and as it grows again, the weight will go back on… unless I stick to the new diet which I started when my front implants fell out.

  6. I swear to fuckin God there’s a council van that just goes up my road every morning playing fuckin bin lorry noises on a loudspeaker and don’t worry im still fucking off but realised it’s still November for another day and wanted to raise the noise issue.

  7. The teacher said the first person ready for PE, out of the changing rooms and in a space of their own gets a house point! Yay! It may be Monday Morning but I’m on form today. Have a great day friends.

  8. The flock would like to thank the small child in the green coat who charged at the seagulls today after they moved on to our turf…

Major: “Is he really? Oh dear. What breed is it?”
