Each year we see a list of new words that have been added to the Oxford-English Dictionary and sometimes it brings a smile to our faces but mostly goes by unnoticed. This year, however, they have hit the nail on the head with the new word of “binge-watching”. This is something we know all about here at Jammy Toast because we are so guilty of the act that it is unreal. Binge-watching, also called binge-viewing, is the practice of watching television for longer time spans than usual, usually of a single television show.
You will all know by now, if you have been following Jammy Toast for any length of time, that we love our telly and everything about it. If we were to move to live on a desert island then our Sky+ HD box would be the first thing that we would take with us. In fact, I think the Box Sets available on Sky is the best invention of the twenty-first century. We have watched many programmes on this including 24, Grey’s Anatomy, Hannibal, The Tunnel, The Following, Strike Back, Luther and our latest discovery Prison Break. They are all brilliant programmes and available to watch when we want to watch them and we can watch as many episodes at once as we wish – what more could a simple teddy bear ask for. However, there is just one downside to this – the length of some of the series compared to the number of hours in the day!
As everyone who visits Jammy Toast must know by now we are confirmed telly addicts. There is nothing myself and the bears love more than settling down to an evening of decent television. Programmes like Walking the Dead, Airplane Crash Investigation, old specials of Waking the Dead are amongst our favourites. We have recently discovered the joys of Grey’s Anatomy and are catching up on the old series via Sky’s On Demand. Last night, we were settled down watching Meredith having a fling with one of the doctors from the Grace Medical Centre when bang… the Sky box crashed.
I thought we would update you on a few items of Bear news today to keep you all up on the latest developments at the Birkenhead Bear Sanctuary. Firstly, we would like to apologise for no post last night. Yesterday we had Sky+ HD installed for the Bears to keep them entertained during the day. Therefore, last night, we were all sat around setting up our new telly and watching programmes in high definition. The Bears could not believe their little eyes at just how clear the picture is. While watching Silence of the Lambs we could actually see the hairs up Anthony Hopkins nose! I fear the chances of me getting Razzi back to work are fading by the day, but it does mean the Bears can watch their NASCAR on Sunday. If you are interested, the Daytona 500 is on Sky Sports 3 from 6 o’clock on Sunday afternoon.
