Please excuse Jammy Toast from going missing for the last few days, we have been playing around with the new version of X. I say “we” but what I really mean is “Edward”. He has been experimenting and finding out just what is possible with the new version of X and its new page-builder; “Cornerstone”. Furthermore, he is thinking of redesigning the home page using some of the new design elements available through X and Cornerstone. Watch this space for future developments…
Well at last it has happened, after waiting for what seems like a lifetime, we finally got our paws on the new version of our theme. X Version 4 has now been implemented on Jammy Toast with the new page-builder, simply called Cornerstone. This is a standalone plugin with a custom frontend interface for building pages and posts with the integrated shortcodes. This takes the place of the X Shortcodes and will ultimately take over from Visual Composer. We already have plans for some new features on Jammy Toast to demonstrate just what X can do.
The people who make our WordPress theme, Themeco, have told us that a big update is on the way. They are currently on the final stretch and if all goes according to plan, they will be releasing the latest version towards the end of this week. This is a big update and is causing a great deal of excitement with Edward who no doubt will be installing it as soon as he gets hold of it. Themeco have packed in some exciting things with this update but so far and just building up the suspense and not revealing just what they are as yet.
The first job of the year is to wish all our friends a very happy and prosperous New Year. If you have followed Jammy Toast a while then welcome back but if you are a new visitor then make yourselves at home and have a nose around. Whoever you are, wherever you are from, we always like to see you here at Jammy Toast. Just in case you are new, then let me introduce ourselves. Here at Jammy Toast we save teddy bear, many of whom have been cast adrift into the hands of charity shops and eBay sales. All these bears need is a happy family home to make them feel safe and secure and provide them with a happy home where they can watch daytime telly and play on the internet.
We were pretty late posting anything tonight because Themeco, the makers of our WordPress theme, have just updated our X Theme to version 3.0 and I couldn’t wait to update our website to the latest version. This time they have added Extensions which allows us to build new amazing functionality into Jammy Toast. If anyone is thinking of launching a site I can thoroughly recommend WordPress with the X Theme, it really is the only theme you would need containing multiple unique designs. As Themeco have already said; it is one theme but with endless possibilities.
We have been waiting with baited breath for the latest update to our WordPress theme “X” as it was promised to be a big one. Version 2.0 has now been released and sees two major areas of improvement; firstly there is a new stack available and secondly “X” now includes megamenus. There are also many areas of improvement and much of the theme’s code has been “minified” and the way scripts load improved to offer quicker loading times for our readers. In additional there are many updates and bug fixes that have greatly streamlined the way many processes are handled by “X”. Although many of these have more to do with the backend, they do go a long way to improve the way “X” loads and works.
As everyone is busy doing other things over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, I thought it would be a good idea to bring everyone up to date with the workings of Jammy Toast. Behind the scenes we have quietly been making changes all the time, most of which don’t really affect our end-users. We recently upgraded WordPress to version 3.9 “Smith” named in honour of jazz organist Jimmy Smith. This release features a number of refinements, none of which you will probably ever see, but it makes it easier for us run Jammy Toast more smoothly.
